Focus and Scope

Digital Religion is a journal that responds to recent developments in religious studies by looking at the dynamic interaction of technology with religion and religious people. Attention is directed towards analysing the influence of technological disruption on religious life and the use of computing and digital technologies in religion and religiousness. Articles are expected to cover the topics of using digital platforms, social media, websites, or mobile applications to provide religious resources, opening access to religious resources online, courses or training through digital platforms, disseminating religious teachings, organising religious movements or activities, and building virtual-based interfaith networks.

The Journal welcomes original articles, review articles, commentaries, fieldnotes, and interviews that address how digital technologies affect the way religious communities maintain, teach, and communicate with each other from different religious backgrounds.
